Rangnick agrees Manchester United switch

Ralf Rangnick is set to be involved with Manchester United for the next two and a half years.

The German will act as the club’s interim manager for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.

Then, after stepping down from his managerial role, Rangnick will take up a consultancy position:

Though the official definition of what Rangnick’s consultancy role will actually involve is not 100 per cent clear, one would assume that it involves having a say in transfer business.

It has also already been reported that the former RB Leipzig boss will be allowed a January transfer budget.

So, it is probably fair to assume that we could expect to see some transfer business taking place at Old Trafford next month.

According to The Sun, RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara will become the German’s first addition, providing the Red Devils pay his release clause, which is believed to stand at £32m:

AMADOU HAIDARA will become Ralf Rangnick’s first signing next month – if Manchester United pay his £32million release clause now.

The 23-year-old would sign for Leipzig from their sister club, RB Salzburg, in January of 2019.

And Haidara has since featured on 100 occasions for the German outfit, largely operating as a defensive midfielder or in a box-to-box role.
