The draw for the 3rd round of the FA Cup has been confirmed on Monday evening, with a number of mouthwatering fixtures in store.
Foxes the holders
The latest edition of English football’s most historic cup competition will of course return to our screens early next year.
After Leicester City bested Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea to emerge triumphant in the competition last time out, the Blues, amongst many, many others, will be understandably keen to knock Brendan Rodgers and co. off their perch come next May.

Tough tests for Villa, Leeds & more
And, as alluded to above, on Monday night, any such club with hopes of going all the way in the FA Cup in 2021/22 discovered exactly who they will need to best in the competition’s next round.
The 3rd-round of course marks the stage at which Premier League clubs enter the equation, a full six of whom have been drawn against one another for the ties set to take place between the 7th and 10th of January.
The outfits in question?
Manchester United, Aston Villa, West Ham United, Leeds United, Leicester City and Watford.
Ralf Rangnick’s United have been handed a tricky home tie against Villa, an occasion which will see the Red Devils lock horns with a long-time foe, in the form of Steven Gerrard.

Elsewhere, David Moyes’ Hammers will be forced to get the better of relegation-battling Leeds if they hope to maintain their status as contenders across no fewer than four competitions this season.
Holders Leicester, meanwhile, will no doubt fancy their chances up against Claudio Ranieri’s hit-and-miss Watford side.
Other noteworthy ties come in the form of Liverpool vs Shrewsbury Town, Chelsea vs Chesterfield, Manchester City’s trip to Swindon Town and Arsenal visiting Nottingham Forest.
