Arsenal’s supporters have taken to social media in their absolute droves on Monday night, to take aim at manager Mikel Arteta.
Gray wins it at the death
The Gunners were of course back in action a short time ago.
On the back of two defeats in their last three, Arteta and co. made the trip to Goodison Park, no doubt confident in their chances of getting things back on track up against a struggling Everton outfit.
When all was said and done on Merseyside, however, to say that such a development was not forthcoming would be putting it lightly.
Despite a hugely underwhelming performance, the visitors managed to take the lead on the stroke of the interval, when Martin Odegaard broke free in the area to volley home from Kieran Tierney’s delivery:
Just moments after having a goal wiped out, Everton go behind against Arsenal! 😬

After Richarlison saw not one, but two goals ruled out for the most marginable of offside calls imaginable, though, Everton finally found a deserved equaliser a little over ten minutes from time.
And it was that man Richarlison on target once again, nodding home after Demarai Gray’s gorgeous bending effort came back off the crossbar:

Then, as proceedings rolled into injury-time, the turnaround was complete.
Demarai Gray, amid an excellent all-round performance on the night, cut inside from his berth on the left flank, to direct another stunning long-range effort off the woodwork.
On this occasion, though, the ball found its way beyond Aaron Ramsdale, and in:

And this is how things finished at Goodison Park, as Everton finally put an end to an 8-game winless streak in the Premier League.
Arteta slammed
For Arsenal, on the other hand, the inquest will now get underway…
The Gunners, as outlined above, have slipped to three defeats in their last four league outings, a run which has seen them slip off the pace of the top-4.
In turn, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to hear that, on the back of the full-time whistle on Monday night, those of an Arsenal persuasion have not been at all shy in making their frustrations known.
The main recipient of the backlash? Manager Mikel Arteta…
Wow! Sack Mike Arteta @Arsenal. I’ve seen enough.

Arteta’s in game management has cost us the game. But let’s not get it twisted, we don’t deserve anything from this match anyway. Total lack of intent from the start. And that also comes from him.

Bad team selection, again. Bad game management, again. Bad substitutions, again. Really not sure what Arteta has to make up for this. It’s damning.

Teams are a reflection of their manager. Under Arteta it’s been too cautious, too stale, too predicable. Nothing fun about it

Chelsea got rid of Frank Lampard.
Manchester United got rid of Ole.Stop delaying the inevitable and get rid of Arteta. Thank you @Arsenal

This is all on Arteta. Terrible subs and in game management at 1-0 up. Sold the game

24 months in, Arteta still struggle to manage a football game, not to mention his other numerous shortcomings.
— Emzel (@Emzyl23) December 6, 2021
Truth is Arteta has us playing the sort of football Benitez played at Newcastle with shocking players and no investment.
Up there with the worst performances of his tenure.
Bored of percentage football and crazy decisions on substitutions.
And it takes a lot to get to me.

Serious football clubs sign the best of the best and do not settle for less.
Arteta has been given more than enough time, more than enough games, more than enough money, more than enough passes with bad results to be continuously backed.
Enough is enough for Arsenal!
