Manchester United would part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last month after a torrid start to the 2021/22 campaign.
Solskjaer’s final game in charge of the Red Devils came when they were put to the sword by a relegation-battling Watford side.
This would prove to be the final nail in the Norwegian’s United coffin after embarrassing defeats to the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Young Boys already this season.
Manchester United have since moved onto a new boss, with Ralf Rangnick taking charge of his first game as United manager this past weekend, beating Crystal Palace by one goal to nil.
And though he has since been replaced by Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still appears to be sticking around the area.
And now, The Athletic have revealed a conversation between OGS and some United fans he spoke to recently.
The fans in question are said to have expressed gratitude for his efforts at the club, before Solskjaer stated that he ‘tried his best’:
Solskjaer was picking up a sushi takeaway near his home in Cheshire on Wednesday when diners in the restaurant went to express gratitude for his efforts over the last three years. Solskjaer replied: “I tried my best.” He collected his food and waved to the United supporters on his way out, saying: “Thanks lads.”
