West Ham’s win over Chelsea marred by injury
Just as West Ham’s win over Liverpool at London Stadium was marred by a season-ending injury to Angelo Ogbonna, their 3-2 win over then League-leaders Chelsea was also tainted.
Despite a brilliant performance and a fluke goal from Arthur Masuaku, his first in West Ham colours, there were two further issues.

This is something out of pro clubs on Fifa 😂

Firstly, impressive full-back Ben Johnson hobbled off in the first half with what appeared to be a hamstring injury, having to be replaced by Masuaku on the stroke of half-time.
Then, with the scores locked at 2-2, it got worse. Kurt Zouma, who has been sensational since his move from Chelsea to West Ham in the summer, was also forced off through injury, despite his desire to carry on.
And now, in further bad news, West Ham have confirmed the severity of his injury.
Zouma out for the season?
Taking to Twitter, the club confirmed that Zouma has sustained a hamstring tendon injury, while Johnson suffered a simple strain.
We can confirm that Kurt Zouma sustained a hamstring tendon injury during Saturday’s win over Chelsea.
Ben Johnson has also started his rehabilitation after suffering a low-grade hamstring strain.
Best of luck with your recoveries, Ben & @KurtZouma! 👊⚒

As per the London Evening Standard, however:
The Hammers are refusing to put a timescale on the injury though there is a hope that the former Everton man will be involved again this season.
This leaves West Ham with just two fit centre backs, Craig Dawson and Issa Diop, in a hectic festive schedule.
Can they continue to fly high in spite of this?
