Manchester United predicted lineup vs Aston Villa – Premier League

Manchester United travel to face Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday evening, having just knocked Steven Gerrard’s men out of the FA Cup.

That 1-0 victory wasn’t awe-inspiring, but the it did show character to bounce back from a gut-wrenching defeat at home to Wolves in their prior outing – a result that proved to Ralf Rangnick just how big a rebuilding job he has on his hands.

Sitting seventh in the table, United face an Aston Villa side who have lost their previous three – although still maintain high spirits after a hugely promising beginning to Gerrard’s time as boss. Here’s how United could shape up.

David De Gea (GK) – Has been a standout performer for United and deserves all the praise he’ll undoubtedly receive come the end of the season.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB) –
Diogo Dalot is a doubt for the visiting side, so Wan-Bissaka should come into the lineup.

Raphael Varane (CB) –
Was generally solid against Villa last time out, but needs to sharpen up soon in order to show why he really is a top defender.

Harry Maguire (CB) –
Missed out on that FA Cup victory, but looks set to be available for selection for Saturday’s clash.

Alex Telles (LB) – Luke Shaw will be absent through suspension, so we can expect Telles to step back into the side.

Mason Greenwood (RM) – Hasn’t been at his best for large parts of the campaign, having scored just once in all competitions since mid October.

Fred (CM) – Has been consistently good of late and, following that utterly sumptuous assist to tee up the winning goal last time out, should definitely keep his place here.

Nemanja Matic (CM) – Scott McTominay is another player suspended for the visitors, so Matic will likely come into the fold to partner Fred in midfield.

Bruno Fernandes (LM) – Wasn’t great at all last time out but he can always produce one moment of match-winning bedazzlement that justifies his place.

Edinson Cavani (ST) – Just the two Premier League goals for the veteran marksman, although those have come in his previous four outings.

Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) – Was forced out of United’s FA Cup progression on Monday but should be fit enough to return and lead the line once more.
