Premier League LIVE: Coutinho bags equaliser for Aston Villa against Man Utd

Welcome to 90min‘s live coverage of all the Premier League action on Saturday.

The action got off with a real bang, with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea travelling to the Etihad Stadium to face runaway leaders Manchester City in what was already being billed as a potential title decider.

The 3pm (GMT)-kick-offs saw Newcastle host Watford, Norwich battle Everton and Wolves face Southampton, before the action came to a close with Manchester United’s trip to Aston Villa at 5:30.

You can read our coverage from those earlier kick-offs via the links below, while we also be covered Aston Villa vs Man Utd play-by-play.

FULL TIME – ASTON VILLA 2-2 MAN UTD

It’s over! United must have thought they’d done enough to earn the win after Fernandes’ brace, but Villa rallied back late on and are deserving of a point – and you just knew Coutinho was going to have a say.

We’ll have player ratings from this match and a rundown of today’s Premier League games with you shortly…

Rangnick throws on Van de Beek and Lingard for Greenwood and Fernandes to see out the game.

81 mins – GOAL! ASTON VILLA 2-2 MAN UTD (COUTINHO)

It just had to be him! Villa do so well to pull a resolute Man Utd out of position, allowing Ramsey to square across goal for Coutinho to tap in!

78 mins – MAN UTD SUB

Elanga can be proud of the performance he put in tonight. He’s been replaced by Sancho.

76 mins – FINAL VILLA SUB

Ings has hardly made an impact in this game and he has been replaced by Carney Chukwuemeka.

68 mins – HERE COMES COUTINHO

That’s Sanson’s last action as he’s replaced by the debuting Coutinho…

67 mins – GOAL! ASTON VILLA 0-2 MAN UTD (FERNANDES)

Man Utd have their second and it’s Fernandes at the double! The Red Devils are able to press Morgan Sanson into an error and the Portuguese is on hand to smash one in off the bar.

60 mins – SO CLOSE FROM ELANGA AND GREENWOOOD!

What a chance! Cash horribly skews a Villa clearance straight into the path of Elanga, but the youngster can’t keep his shot on target.

Moments later, Greenwood races in behind and flashes a strike across goal, but it just rolls wide.

57 mins – VILLA APPLYING PRESSURE!

The hosts have looked much brighter this half – Buendia’s gone close and debutant Digne has just lashed one into the side netting.

49 mins – DE GEA AND MARTINEZ SAVES!

Both goalkeepers have been forced into low stops at the start of a lively second half – we may have a game on our hands…

SECOND HALF UNDERWAY!

And we’re off again. Ezri Konsa picked up an injury at the end of the first half and has been replaced by Kortney Hause.

That’s the end of the first half. Man Utd have dominated for the most part, while Villa finally began making chances as the opening 45 came to a close. Gerrard may have to throw Coutinho on sooner rather than later…

36 mins – DE GEA DENIES BUENDIA!

What a save! Emiliano Buendia – the shortest player on the pitch – manages to win a header at the near post from a corner, but the Spanish stopper is equal to it.

32 mins – VILLA HAVE THEIR FIRST SHOT!

How nice of you to join us, Aston Villa. It’s a shame Ollie Watkins’ effort on the counter was so tame.

28 mins – GREENWOOD CLOSE AGAIN!

Greenwood has been lively. He’s just thrashed one inches wide of Martinez’s net – you can sense another United goal coming…

19 mins – ANOTHER UNITED CHANCE!

It’s been one-way traffic so far. Edinson Cavani is causing all sorts of havoc in the Villa box, drawing defenders away and leaving Mason Greenwood unmarked – the youngster just had a close-range effort denied by Martinez.

12 mins – CHANCE!

United have started this game well, despite how fortunate their goal was. Anthony Elanga – making a Premier League start for the first time – rose above Matty Cash to reach a cross, but his header only found the side netting.

6 mins – GOAL! Aston Villa 0-1 Man Utd (Fernandes)

Man Utd have the lead! Alex Telles touches a free-kick to Bruno Fernandes, who lets fly from range – and somehow the shot squirms through Emiliano Martinez and into the net. Oh dear.

Good evening, football fans! Saturday’s Premier League action comes to a close with Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa hosting Manchester United.
