Chelsea vs Manchester City

Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off played out a short time ago.

Said match would see the Premier League’s top two facing off at the Etihad.

Chelsea were well aware ahead of the game that they needed to avoid defeat to stand any chance of staying in the current Premier League title race.

However, the Blues endured a very tough opening 45 minutes which saw them fail to have a single shot on target.

Manchester City would continue to have the better of the action in the second half and eventually found the breakthrough after 69 minutes.

Kevin De Bruyne picked up the ball near the halfway line before shrugging off an N’Golo Kante tackle and curling an effort past Kepa Arrizabalaga from the edge of the Chelsea box.

Tuchel targeted

Minutes before the goal, Thomas Tuchel brought on Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi, leaving Mason Mount, arguably Chelsea’s most consistent attacker, on the bench until the 80th minute.

And, after finally bringing on Mount with just 10 minutes to play and a goal down, Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure at Tuchel’s decision not to bring the Englishman on until then.
