Liverpool face club legend Steven Gerrard as they continue their Premier League title challenge with a trip to Aston Villa.
Jurgen Klopp’s side lost ground on Manchester City at the weekend as a result of a frustrating draw against Tottenham at Anfield. City subsequently beat Newcastle the next day to open up a three-point gap, although Liverpool could return to the top on goal difference – and having played a game more – if they win by five goals against Villa.
Here’s 90min’s preview of the game.
When is kick off? Tuesday 10 May, 20:00 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Villa Park

Referee? Jonathan Moss
VAR? John Brooks
Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey remain doubts for Villa, with the former struggling to overcome a groin problem that ruled him out against Burnley.
Morgan Sanson and Kortney Hause are still sidelined, but Gerrard otherwise has a relatively healthy squad to pick from; Philippe Coutinho in line to face his former club.
Roberto Firmino missed the weekend fixture to focus on recovering from an ankle injury and trained on Monday morning. A decision on the Brazilian’s inclusion won’t be made until Tuesday,
Jurgen Klopp otherwise has a fully fit squad at his disposal, which could see the boss make changes to keep players fresh as the FA Cup final against Chelsea follows soon after.
Even with a slightly rotated lineup, Liverpool should have enough about them to win this game and keep their fight going on all fronts.
Despite the Gerrard connection, the Reds can expect no favours and Villa will try to make it tough for them as they have their own ambitions to play for – a first top half Premier League finish in 11 long years is still within reach for them.
Prediction: Aston Villa 1-3 Liverpool
