Despite his recent disappointment against Dmitry Bivol, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is the highest earning fighter in 2022.
The Mexican has made a total of 89 million dollars between salary and winnings (84m) and endorsements (5m).
This is according to a list compiled by Sportico, on the top 100 highest-paid athletes in the world.
Canelo is fifth in the overall table, with the next fighter on the list being Tyson Fury in 14th overall who has earned 69m dollars between salary and winnings (63m) and endorsements (6m).
Despite having not fought since last year, Conor McGregor is the third highest earning fighter on the list, and 22nd athlete overall.
The Irishman has made a total of 52m dollars with 20m of those coming from endorsements.
The only other fighter on the list is YouTuber Jake Paul, who has racked up 37m dollars even though, like McGregor, he has not fought in 2022.
