Tim Coronel: Hamilton is too preoccupied with his piercings and other nonsense

Dutch racing driver Tim Coronel has criticised Lewis Hamilton, with the Brit so far performing poorly in the new Formula 1 season.

Coronel believes Hamilton is making too many excuses rather than focusing on racing, and also put some of the blame on his Mercedes teammate George Russell.

“Mercedes and Hamilton are not on a good vibe,” he told the Dutch edition of

“As a driver, in a warm environment you express yourself well and then you can be creative and keep going.

“Hamilton and Mercedes are definitely not in that at the moment. I see Hamilton making a lot of excuses.”

Coronel added that Hamilton “keeps getting punched in the nose from his team-mate Russell” before further criticism.

“Now Hamilton puts the ball to the team, but as a driver you also have to think,” he said.

Hamilton is too preoccupied with his piercings, gems and other nonsense than with real racing.”
