Man killed in shooting at LA Grand Central Market

A man was shot and killed outside the Grand Central Market food hall in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The victim was taken to hospital, but died from his injuries, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

As shots rang out, visitors fled the market or sought shelter in its basement.

The shooting came not long after a white 18-year-old wearing military gear and livestreaming with a helmet camera opened fire with a rifle at a supermarket in Buffalo.

Ten people were killed and another three wounded in that shooting, which authorities described as “racially motived violent extremism”.
