FBI arrests Ryan Kelley, Michigan gubernatorial candidate, for his role in the January 6 riots

The FBI arrested former Republican candidate for the Michigan governor, Ryan Kelley.

Kelley participated in the January 6 insurrection. As a defender of Donald Trump, he had a role during the Capitol invasion.

The former Michigan governor candidate has charges for misdemeanors. The FBI arrested Kelley in western Michigan, at his home.

Is Kelley the only political figure related to the insurrection?

No, he is not.

The prosecutors took Kelley into custody for “stemming from January 6, 2021, Capitol breach.”

Prosecutors have footage of Kelley in a baseball cap with pro-Trump insurrectionists. Nevertheless, he didn’t breach the Capitol.

Images “showed [Kelley] at the US Capitol wearing a black coat, a backward black baseball cap with a rectangular U.S. flag emblem above the bill, and aviator sunglasses,” investigators said.

The former Michigan candidate is not the only political figure in the eyes of the FBI.

Reports say that prosecutors will charge more people.

So far, Kelley is among three public officials already charged for involvement in the Capitol riot.

For example, Otero, New Mexico county commissioner Couy Griffin was found guilty of a misdemeanor in March.

Efforts to overtunr the 2020 legitimate election:

Kelley wanted to overturn the legitimate election won by Joe Biden on November 20.

He was one of the speakers at the ‘Stop the Steal’ rally in Michigan’s Capitol at Lansing.

During his speech, Kelley wore a name tag saying “Covid-19 was made so that they can use the propaganda to control your minds so that you think if you watch the media, that Joe Biden won this election,” investigators reported in the charging documents.
