Stephen Colbert’s naughty joke about Ivanka Trump’s betrayal of father, Donald Trump

Ever since the January 6 storming of the capitol where Trump supporters attempted to overthrow the government took place, former president Donald Trump has kept his ‘election fraud’ narrative. All his followers have maintained the very same energy throughout the years but someone from his inner circle just betrayed him in public.

During last Thursday’s hearings where evidence of the crimes commited on that day were revealed, daughter Ivanka Trump appeared in a pre-recorded testimony. Former Attorney General Bill Barr appeared saying all the election fraud talk was ‘bullshit’ and Ivanka Trump shockingly agreed with him.

In the short video where she confessed to not be on her father’s side, there is an evident level of hesitance in her voice. Evidently, she knew that saying that in public would most likely create animosity between her and Donald Trump. But Ivanka was always the smartest one of the former president’s children, she knows siding with him could get her in jail.

After the testimony, comedian Stephen Colbert presented his monologue where he celebrated the hearings and all the presented evidence. But out of all the jokes, the one about Ivanka’s betrayal was probably the most controversial only by gauging on the audience reaction.

That must have been a bittersweet moment for the former president. She finally screwed him.

Did Stephen Colbert cross the line?

In order to get that joke, we must first see the historically creepy way in which former president Donald Trump talks about daughter Ivanka. There are many times in which he can’t help himself, always talking about how gorgeous his daughter is but in a really disturbing way. Colbert hit a nerve with that joke but Donald Trump is the one who gave him the idea.

After getting mixed reactions from this joke, Colbert wen’t on to talk about how Fox News aired a show with no comercials in order to prevent their viewers from changing the channel to see the hearings. On Monday, the hearings will resume and we are only getting started with what could possibly get Donald Trump in jail. Check out Colbert‘s entire monologue down below.
