OL Reign sign striker Jordyn Huitema from PSG

OL Reign have added another attacking force to their roster, acquiring Canadian striker Jordyn Huitema from Paris Saint-Germain for an undisclosed transfer fee.

She joins the National Women’s Soccer League team after three seasons with PSG, where she helped lead the team to their first-ever Division 1 Feminine title. Huitema recorded 18 goals in 71 total appearances for the European side before making her move to the United States.

“I’m really looking forward to this new chapter and opportunity with OL Reign. This team is filled with some of the most talented players from around the world and I’m honored to be a part of it,” Huitema said. “I’m eager to get started and can’t wait to contribute to the team’s success.”

Internationally, Huitema has been a key factor in Canada’s recent success. She’s managed 14 goals in 49 caps, featuring at the 2019 World Cup and 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she helped her side to the gold medal.

“Jordyn has shown her ability to play at the highest level at both club and international level. We understand how much potential she has and think that she could have an important role on this team,” said head coach Laura Harvey in a statement.

Huitema arrives at OL Reign as the third big signing in the last three weeks, joining Tobin Heath and Kim Little, who’s on a two-month loan deal from Arsenal.

The team’s attacking options now persist of Huitema, Heath, Rose Lavelle, Megan Rapinoe, Jess Fishlock and Golden Boot contender Bethany Balcer, not to mention the depth of the bench with players like Ally Watt, Veronica Latsko and Tziarra King.
