The NBA Draft night has two sides to it – that of the stars and that of the youngsters of the class of 2022.
In search of new teammates to go in search of a championship ring, those who wish to switch colours in search of new projects and who are available on the night at the Barclays Center are Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Rudy Gobert, and could be of interest to sides like the Philadelphia 76ers or Boston Celtics.
Above all, there are three big-name players – Bradley Beal, Irving, and Harden – who aren’t happy where they are, but could move on and make a real difference next season.
DeAndre Ayton is far from pleased with the Phoenix Suns needs to find a new contract, and Rudy Gobert has a poor relationship with the Utah Jazz and their star Donovan Mitchell.
There are other lower-profile options to consider as well, or gambles to be made on shooters who were both thrown out by their franchises, like Duncan Robinson.
What will the teams do in the 2022 NBA Draft?
NBA sides will use the draft to trade for players in order to strengthen their position, just as the players themselves will do.
The Celtics, NBA finalists, may also look to add players in response to the calls for them to improve their shooting, and supporters of the Boston franchise appear to adore Dejounte Murray.
Then there’s the Sixers, following their umpteenth failure to match expectations. Daryl Morey met with PJ Tucker and Eric Gordon in an effort to offer something different to a team that only recorded losses in the NBA post-season.
Moreover, don’t write off the Los Angeles Lakers. They are always linked with a new star player, and big names could even leave LA, including Russell Westbrook and his problematic contract.
