The Knicks (25-23 SU, 23-22-3 ATS, 25-22 O/U) look to snap a four-game losing streak tonight when they host the Cavaliers (29-19 SU, 25-21-2 ATS, 23-25 O/U).
The Knicks have been struggling lately, losing four of their past five games. New York is back at home after a two-game road trip, but that isn’t going to help them much because they’re worse at MSG than they are on the road. New York has only covered two of its past nine home games. The Knicks will also be without Mitchell Robinson tonight, allowing the Cavs more scoring opportunities at the rim. Cleveland has been up and down lately, but that’s mostly because of injuries. They should get Donovan Mitchell back tonight, giving a huge boost to their offense.
PICK: Cavaliers -3
The Wizards (20-26 SU, 21-24-1 ATS, 25-21 O/U) and Mavericks (25-23 SU, 16-29-3 ATS, 27-21 O/U) meet for the second and final time this season tonight at American Airlines Arena.
The Mavericks have been awful lately and are coming off a blowout loss to the Clippers — so they could use a big win tonight. The Wizards are going to be without Kristaps Porzingis, who is still out with injury, and Rui Hachimura, who they just traded to the Lakers on Monday. That’s going to leave Washington’s frontcourt pretty thin. I also see this as a bit of a revenge game not only for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans, who were traded from Washington last season but for the entire team after losing to the Wizards earlier in the season. In that game, the Wizards dominated the boards and in the paint. I just don’t see that happening again with Porzingis and Hachimura out.
PICK: Mavericks -7.5
The Clippers (25-24 SU, 23-26 ATS, 19-29 O/U) and Lakers ( 22-25SU, 21-23-3 ATS, 23-20 O/U) meet tonight in a clash between the two Los Angeles teams.
The Lakers and Clippers have been struggling lately on the defensive end of the floor, ranking in the bottom 10 in the league over their past five games. That’s not too surprising for the Lakers, but it is for the Clippers, who have been one of the better defensive teams all season. On the other side of the floor, both offenses have been putting up big numbers and have top-five offensive ratings over the past five games. These two teams have met twice this season, and neither total has gotten close to this number, but they also both shot the ball pretty poorly in those games. Neither team has shot higher than 36.5 percent from three, and the Lakers haven’t shot higher than 45 percent from the field. That’s going to turn around tonight, and we’re going to see a much higher total.
PICK: Clippers vs. Lakers Over 230
