After being traded to the New York Islanders by the Vancouver Canucks on Monday, Bo Horvat will still play for the Pacific Division while representing the Islanders at the NHL All-Star Game on Saturday in Florida, the league says.
The decision is the same one the NHL made in 2016 when John Scott played for the Pacific Division after he was traded to the Montreal Canadiens by the Arizona Coyotes.
The NHL took the opposite route in 1990 when Bernie Nicholls dressed for the Campbell Conference after he was traded to the New York Rangers by the Los Angeles Kings.
Horvat hasn’t played a game for the Islanders yet with the team on a bye week.
The native of London, Ont. has 31 goals and 23 assists for 54 points in 49 games with the Canucks this season.
