Premier League clashes don’t come much bigger than this as title chasers Manchester City make the long trip south to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The last time these two sides met back in January, the Citizens fought back from being two goals down at half time to win 4-2, a mightily important three-point haul as they continue to hunt down table-toppers Arsenal.
Expect the action to continue here, especially given Spurs’ poor defensive record of late on home soil which has now seen them go five consecutive home league outings without a clean sheet.
With the hosts needing a victory to potentially climb back into the Champions League spots and the visitors keen to close the gap on Arsenal with another win, the stage is set for another tense affair between these two English giants.

Tottenham vs Man City odds
As usual with matches involving Manchester City, Pep Guardiola’s side have been made heavy favourites to win this all-important Premier League clash.
That’s justified given Tottenham’s woes of late, especially on home soil where they’ve now lost four of their last five Premier League outings.
City also hold the upper hand in terms of psychological preparation given their fantastic 4-2 victory against Antonio Conte’s side on January 19. Despite finding themselves 0-2 down at half time in that latest clash, goals from Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland and a brace from Riyad Mahrez turned the tide to give City three huge points as they continue to hunt down table-toppers Arsenal.
Wins ‘to nil’ since vs Wolves in the league and against Arsenal in the FA Cup last weekend will give Guardiola’s team further confidence for this match-up.

Tottenham vs Man City team news
Spurs come into this clash hoping that forward Richarlison will be declared fit enough for the bench after the Brazilian missed his side’s last outing in the FA Cup vs Preston, though midfielder Pape Sarr is likely to miss the action again here.
New signing Pedro Porro could be thrown straight into the line up after his big money move from Sporting on deadline day, especially as both Matt Doherty and Djed Spence left the club on the same day.
For Manchester City, they also saw a full-back depart on deadline day as Joao Cancelo moved on loan to Bayern Munich for the remainder of the campaign. That shouldn’t cause too much issue though given Rico Lewis has taken the Portuguese international’s spot in the side during recent weeks.
John Stones did leave the field last time out with an injury however, and City could also be without Phil Foden due to a foot injury.

Tottenham vs Man City key stats
- Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has lost all four of his visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in all competitions – it’s the away ground he’s managed at the most without ever winning throughout his whole managerial career.
- Tottenham have conceded twice or more in each of their last five Premier League home games, last suffering more in consecutive home league games between September and November 1988!
- Against Manchester City, they’ll be looking to avoid losing three home league matches in a row for the first time since September 2008.
Tottenham vs Man City prediction
- Moneyline lean: Manchester City to win (-135)
- Against the spread lean: Tottenham +0.5 (+220)
- Score prediction: Spurs 1-2 Manchester City
Manchester City’s 4-2 victory against Spurs in January should give them plenty of confidence for this clash even if they’re yet to even score at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
We expect that run of four goalless outings at this venue to come to a swift end here however, especially given Spurs’ torrid defensive record of late. In the Premier League, they’ve now failed to keep a clean sheet in five consecutive home matches and without manager Antonio Conte on the sidelines — due to an operation — they could capitulate again in this one.
It probably goes without saying in truth, but expect star City striker Haaland to get on the score sheet here as well. He’s already netted 25 Premier League goals this season, a tally that would have seen him already win the Golden Boot on 16 separate occasions across the competition’s 30 year history.
Tottenham vs Man City: Best bet
- Pick: Both teams to score
- Odds: -160 (BetMGM)
This feels about as easy as a bet that you can make this weekend. We may have jinxed that now but with Manchester City’s constant free scoring nature plus Tottenham’s leaky recent defence, there’s little chance that Spurs can keep them off the scoreline here.
Spurs rank second in England’s top flight this season for matches that have seen both teams score, 12 of 21 (57%), whilst interestingly as well, these two sides have seen on average more goals than any others during the Premier League this season, City first with 3.65 and Spurs second with 3.38.
Tottenham vs Man City prop bet
- Pick: Over 1.5 goals scored in the second half
- Odds: -120 (BetMGM)
Given that Manchester City netted all four of those goals against Spurs in their last match-up during the second half, there’s some nice value to be had here at -120.
Add to that the fact that both of these sides have seen the majority of the goals in their respective matches fall during the second 45 so far this campaign (Spurs – 43 & City – 42) and this is a pick that has plenty of potential.
Tottenham vs Man City flier bet
- Pick: Riyad Mahrez to score anytime
- Odds: +225 (BetMGM)
Manchester City’s Algerian winger absolutely loves playing against Tottenham.
Across his career to date, Riyad Mahrez has been involved in more Premier League goals against Tottenham than he has against any other opponent (G7, A4). Three of those goal contributions came in City’s 4-2 win over Conte’s side back in January, just one month ago which should leave him with a taste for more here!
