Maple Leafs’ Conor Timmins signs two-year, $2.2M extension

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed defenceman Conor Timmins to a two-year, $2.2-million extension, the club announced Thursday.

Timmins, 24, has recorded 12 points (one goal, 11 assists) in 18 games with the Leafs this season. He was a pending restricted free agent.

The Leafs acquired Timmins in late November in a deal with the Arizona Coyotes, who dressed the defenceman for just two games this season.

The Colorado Avalanche picked the native of St. Catharines, Ont., in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft.

The Soo Greyhounds product has one goal and 18 assists in 59 career NHL games.
