The Golden State Warriors have traded James Wiseman to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Saddiq Bey, who they then flipped to the Atlanta Hawks for five second-round picks, according to ESPN’s Wojnarowski. The Warriors also received Kevin Knox from the Pistons, according to Wojnarowski.
The Warriors then reportedly moved Knox and the five second-round picks to the Portland Trail Blazers for Gary Payton II, who won a championship with Golden State last season.
Since being selected second overall in the 2020 NBA Draft, Wiseman has struggled to stay healthy playing only 60 games in three seasons. The 21-year-old has appeared in 21 games this season averaging 6.9 points and 3.5 rebounds.
Bey has been in and out of the starting lineup for Detroit this season, averaging 14.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and shooting 34.5 per cent from three.
Bey is eligible to sign an extension this off-season and will be looking to help the 27-28 Hawks improve their positioning in the Eastern Conference.
