San Diego Padres right-hander Yu Darvish has signed a six-year, $108-million extension with the club, according to multiple reports.
Darvish was set to become a free agent after this season.
The 36-year-old Japanese native is a five-time all-star.
Darvish was 16-8 with a 3.10 ERA last year for the Padres, who lost to the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLCS.
In 242 career starts with the Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers and Padres, Darvish is 95-75 with a 3.50 ERA.
