Pelicans’ Zion Williamson to miss several more weeks after hamstring injury setback

New Orleans Pelicans star forward Zion Williamson is set to miss several weeks following the NBA’s All-Star break after re-aggravating a hamstring injury, the team’s executive vice president of basketball David Griffin said Sunday, according to ESPN’s Andrew Lopez.

Williamson will be re-evaluated when the team gets back from the All-Star break.

The 22-year-old has not played since suffering the injury against the Philadelphia 76ers on Jan. 2.

Williamson was voted to be an All-Star starter for the event taking place in Salt Lake City on Feb. 19.

His absence makes him the third All-Star starter expected to miss the game along with Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry.

In 29 games this season, Williamson has averaged 26 points, seven rebounds and 4.6 assists.
