“Make Me Sick” – Islam Makhachev’s Manager Ali Abdelaziz Fires Back at Fans for Questioning His P4P Status

Islam Makhachev created history after successfully defending his UFC lightweight title against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284. He was also successful in bagging the no.1 pound-for-pound fighter status. However, many people believe that Makhachev is undeserving of the P4P title. Recently, his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, took to social media to express his thought on the issue.

Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski put on a clinic at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. Their excellent counter-attacking and counter-grappling skills were on full display in front of the energetic Australian crowd. Ultimately, the Dagestan native turned out to be successful after winning the fight via a unanimous decision.

The result of the fight shocked many fans and UFC personalities. People claimed that the hometown favorite, Alexander Volkanovski, was robbed of the win in his first-ever lightweight fight. Fans and pundits pointed out ‘The Great’ having an excellent last round, which should have been his ticket to victory.

Ali Abdelaziz claims many are being unfair towards Islam Makhachev

There have been a lot of talks regarding the absurdity of the UFC 284 main event’s scorecard. People have been questioning Islam Makhachev’s P4P claim on social media. However, his manager believes that all of this hatred is driven by racism.

He wrote on Twitter, Make me sick how some of these people are so racist you don’t have to like us, but you will respect us Al Hamdullah I know you guys don’t like this @MAKHACHEVMMA P4P.”

Makhachev’s manager stated that the people didn’t have to like the Dagestani fighter, but should respect his achievements inside the octagon and in Dana White’s promotion.

Ali Abdelaziz has always been a strong advocate of the current lightweight champion’s ability to fight. He once claimed that Makhachev is the better and improved version of the UFC legend, Khabib Nurmagomedov, in an interview with TMZ. He also recently rooted for the 31-year-old Dagestani fighter to win against Volkanovski, claiming that he had a huge power advantage on his side. However, the match turned out to be a close fight.

Islam Makhachev is now on a 12-fight winning streak. It is currently the longest active undefeated streak in the UFC. There have been no official announcements regarding his next fight. The new P4P king will most likely take some time away after the toughest fight in his UFC career.
