Oilers’ Kane, Avalanche’s Makar out Sunday with upper-body injuries

Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane and Colorado Avalanche defenceman Cale Makar won’t play in Sunday’s game with upper-body injuries.

The Oilers announced that Kane is day-to-day. In 24 games this season, Kane has nine goals and 19 points.

Makar, also day-to-day, left Saturday’s game against the St. Louis Blues after colliding with Alexei Toropchenko during the third period. Makar would return to the game and recorded 21:27 of ice time in a 4-1 win.

Makar was making his return to the lineup after missing four games with a concussion. The Calgary native has 13 goals and 32 assists for 45 points in 46 games this season.
