Sea Eagles hang on in epic Brookvale clash

Tom Trbojevic has been named Wide World of Sports’ KIA player of the match after his triumphant two-try performance.

Speaking post-match, Trbojevic labelled the 34-30 victory over the Eels as “disappointing” as Parramatta threatened late.

“Probably a little disappointing – the way we finished,” he told Nine’s coverage.

“We had that game won, we probably should have won it easier.”

“Two points are hard to come by in the NRL, especially against a quality side like Parramatta so we’ll take it.”

Asked at what point the match started to turn, Trbojevic admitted that the home side may have slipped into complacency.

”They are a very good side and they get a lot of offloads, and they put a lot of pressure on the second phase of footy. We probably just lost our attack a little bit and allowed them to do that,” he said.

“Then the game started to go into their hands. So, maybe we got a little complacent with the score line, so a few learning to take away from it but two points is very nice.”
