No. 5 Duke dispatched Oral Roberts without much fuss Thursday, beating the Golden Eagles 74-51. Tennessee had significantly more trouble with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns but ultimately prevailed 58-55.

Duke, led by first-year coach Jon Scheyer, carries a 10-game winning streak into this game. Tennessee, under veteran coach Rick Barnes, is looking to make the second weekend of the tournament for the first time since 2019, when it reached the Sweet 16.

ACC Rookie of the Year Kyle Filipowski has been a dominant force for Duke, averaging 15.1 points per game, but it was Jeremy Roach who propelled Duke into the second round of the tournament with 23 points against Oral Roberts. Tennessee has arrived this point through depth, with Santiago Vescovi, Zakai Zeigler, Olivier Nkamhoua and Josiah Jordan-James all averaging double digits.
