Andrew Johns described the Raiders’ performance in their loss to Manly on Sunday as “rank” and couldn’t be convinced to pick them to bounce back despite the big names missing for Souths due to Origin.
The Rabbitohs are flying high but will be challenged by the next six weeks due to the top tier talent missing, with Latrell Mitchell and Cameron Murray joined by Jai Arrow in the interstate clash.
While Canberra will be without Hudson Young (NSW) and Elliott Whitehead (suspension) they have the luxury of calling on rep class players Jack Wighton and Josh Papali’i due to their recent retirements from Origin.

The different personnel in both sides make Saturday night’s match a nightmare for the tipsters but Johns was so disappointed by what he saw from Ricky Stuart’s men on Sunday he had no faith in them bouncing back.
“They were rank on the weekend,” Johns told Wide World of Sports’ Freddy and the Eighth’s Tips, as Fittler interjected.
“Yeah, but I think it’s proven, you know, watching South Sydney play Parramatta (in a surprise loss), the Raiders had won five (in a row), it’s just a hard competition to stay up,” he said.

“And Manly went down there with attitude, obviously Turbo played well, Daly Cherry-Evans played well, Schuster played well, I think it’s proven now , it’s a bit like the old days where anyone can beat anyone on their day.”
