Bucs vs. Falcons betting lines and props: Spread, over/under, best bets for NFL Week 14 clash

The Tampa Bay Bucs (5-7), who have lost six of their past eight games, will be attempting to pull into a first-place tie in the NFC South when they hit the road to face the front-running Atlanta Falcons (6-6) in an early Sunday afternoon game in Week 14 NFL action.

The early Buccaneers vs. Falcons betting lines had Atlanta a 2.5-point favorite on Sunday evening. Currently, Atlanta is favored by , the total is , and Tampa can be had for on the moneyline.

On the O/U board, both teams have been involved in low-scoring games, with eight of their 12 outings going UNDER. League-wide for the season, the UNDER has prevailed 59.1 percent of the time for bettors, including in eight of 13 games last week.

Buccaneers vs. Falcons betting odds: Point spread, moneyline, total for NFL Week 14 matchup

Here’s the latest NFL betting odds for Bucs vs. Falcons:

The underdog has won the past six times these teams have met.

Included is their game seven weeks ago in Tampa when the Falcons prevailed 16-13 as a 3-point dog despite three lost fumbles by QB Desmond Ridder, the league’s 27th-rated passer. He did, however, average a season-best 10 yards per throw when he had a better grip on the ball.

Ridder was benched for Taylor Heinicke two weeks later. After a game and a half on the sideline, Ridder replaced Heinicke (hamstring injury in Week 11) and has been in charge since. However, he has only two TD throws and two interceptions in that span.

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield, ranked 18th, has started all 12 games for the team, tossing 18 TD throws and eight INTs. That’s not bad, but Tampa Bay has yet to beat a team with a winning record.

Their vanquished foes have a cumulative mark of 20-40 (.333).

Atlanta, though, hasn’t been that much better, with its six wins against teams with a combined mark of 28-44 (.389). At least the Falcons have a victory against a 7-5 Houston squad

Buccaneers betting news

Tampa Bay is 2-6 since its Week 5 bye, 4-4 ATS. Many bettors waging money on the Bucs lost out last week when they beat Carolina only 21-18 as a 3.5-point pick.

One thorn in the Bucs’ game the past two years is their low yards per rush, which stands at a league-low 3.5 in 2023.

In 2022, QB Tom Brady’s last year, it was even lower at 3.4. Their lead rusher, Rachaad White, averages only 53.6 yards a game and 3.7 a carry.

Falcons betting news

Atlanta is 3-2 as a home favorite, but 1-4 ATS. Over the past four seasons, that record against the spread as a home pick is 4-12.

In its sole game as a home dog this season, against New Orleans two weeks ago by 1.5 points, they won 24-15.

Last week, the Falcons were 13-8 winners on the road against the NY Jets. But Atlanta had only 194 yards of offense. That’s the second-lowest total for a winning team this year.

Bucs vs. Falcons predictions

Both starting QBs failed to complete half their passes last week for the first time this season, but at least Ridder had an excuse for going only 12-for-27, for he was facing a NY Jets pass defense that ranks fifth in the league.

Mayfield, who was 14-for-29, was tangling with a Panthers team with the worst league record at 1-11.

With regard to the ground game, Atlanta appears to have an edge, allowing only four rushing touchdowns this season, tied for fewest in the league. The Bucs, meanwhile, have scored only six on the ground, tied for the fifth-fewest.

Considering the trouble brewing in the Tampa Bay linebacking corps, this could be a big game for Atlanta RB Bijan Robinson, the league’s eighth-leading rusher but third among them with the highest average yards per carry at 4.8.

Plus, in TB’s past three games, their foes have gone 7-for-7, scoring TDs on first-and-goal possessions.
