NBA All-Star Game voting, explained: How to vote for starters, 3-for-1 days, key dates to know for 2024

This season’s NBA All-Star Game features a few changes, but one thing that remains the same is the fan vote.

Between mid-December and mid-January, fans will be able to vote on the players they believe are most deserving to start in this season’s All-Star Game. That means 10 spots are up for grabs, with five players making it in each conference.

Which players from the Eastern Conference and Western Conference will be named All-Star starters?

Here’s everything you need to know to participate in the 2024 All-Star Game voting process.

How does the NBA All-Star voting process work?

Between Dec. 19 and Jan. 20, fans can vote on the starters for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.

Once again, the fan vote accounts for 50 percent of the vote to determine the All-Star Game starters. Current players and a media panel will split the other 50 percent. The All-Star ballot includes two guards and three frontcourt players from each conference. Fans can submit one ballot each day.

The league is returning to an Eastern Conference vs. Western Conference format, so there will be no All-Star Draft this year. The leading vote-getter in each conference will still be named a captain.

The reserves for the All-Star Game will be chosen by the NBA’s head coaches. Commissioner Adam Silver will choose any necessary injury replacements.

How do you vote for the 2024 NBA All-Star starters?

Fans can vote for their favorite players on NBA.com or the NBA App. An NBA ID, which is a free account created with an email that allows fans to receive personalized content, is required to vote.
