CeeDee Lamb stats today: Cowboys WR has record-setting day in win vs. Lions

CeeDee Lamb has put himself in some rarified air with the Cowboys.

Dallas’ wide receiver history has featured major names like Michael Irvin, Terrell Owens and Dez Bryant. But after Saturday’s 20-19 win over the Lions, Lamb has reached markers no one in Cowboys’ history has reached.

Lamb’s huge Saturday night performance catapulted him to team records for both receptions and receiving yards during a season, surpassing marks previously both held by Irvin.

CeeDee Lamb stats today

Lamb finished Saturday’s game with 13 catches for 227 yards with a touchdown. Both the catches and receiving yards were the most of his career, surpassing 12 catches (happening against the Rams and Seahawks in 2023) and his 191 receiving yards against the Eagles in Week 9.

A huge chunk of Lamb’s yardage came early in the game, when, after evading a safety, Dak Prescott connected with Lamb for a 92-yard touchdown, the longest receiving touchdown of 2023.

As far as single-game Cowboy records, he’s still a bit shy of the marks. Miles Austin in Week 5 of the 2009 season against the Chiefs racked up 250 receiving yards. Lamb’s 227 total trails Austin, Bob Hayes at 246 (Week 10, 1966 vs. Redskins) and Frank Clarke’s 241 yards (Week 1, 1962 vs. Redskins).

Lamb’s receptions are tied for fourth, trailing three games by Jason Witten: 18 in Week 8, 2012 vs. Giants; 15 in Week 14, 2007 vs. Lions; 14 in Week 13, 2009 vs. Giants.

Where Lamb now gets to claim a chunk of football immortality is in the single-season Cowboys record books. Lamb reached 1,651 receiving yards in 2023, surpassing the record held by Irvin in 1995 with 1,603 yards. And his 122 receptions vaulted him well past Irvin’s record of 111 catches from 1995.
