Premier League top goal scorers 2023/2024: Updated EPL golden boot rankings as Erling Haaland prepares for comeback

After setting a new single-season Premier League goals record (36 goals) en route to the Golden Boot award in 2022/23, Manchester City star Erling Haaland came out of the gates strong once again.

After 15 appearances, Haaland was comfortably the leader in the 2023/24 Golden Boot race, with 14 goals. However, after suffering a foot injury during City’s 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa in December, he did not play again until he made a substitute appearance in the 3-1 win over Burnley on January 31.

Mohamed Salah drew level after netting a double in Liverpool’s 4-2 win over Newcastle United on January 1. Tottenham’s Son Heung-min and in-form Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke are just two goals back, while Jarrod BowenHwang Hee-chan and Alexander Isak can consider themselves in the race for the award.

It certainly feels like this season’s battle to finish as the division’s leading goalscorer will be closer than it was a year ago.

The Sporting News will update the top scorers’ table below, with assists and minutes played serving as the first and second tiebreakers as per major European tournaments run by UEFA.

It came down to the final day of the 2021/22 season between Tottenham’s Son Heung-min and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
