Puppy Bowl 2024 schedule, start time, TV channel & how to stream the canine competition

The 20th edition of the Puppy Bowl kicks off hours before Super Bowl 58 between the 49ers and Chiefs.

This year, 131 puppies will be featured from 73 shelters and rescues across 36 states and territories. The size of the puppies range dramatically, from 1.7-pound Sweetpea to 70-pound Levi the Great Dane.

The game will feature six special needs puppies, as well, including a pug terrier named Riddle with a neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia. It will also feature a papillon mix named Mr. Bean who only has his two hind legs. The other four puppies are deaf.

The contestants also have some fun football-themed names from Bark Purdy to Guy Fureri to Patrick Mabones.

The two sides are Team Ruff and Team Fluff, and the winner will take home the “Lombarky” trophy. Individual awards include MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) and the Underdog Award.

Puppy Bowl 2024 start time

  • Time: 2 p.m. ET | 11 a.m. PT

Puppy Bowl 20 begins with a pregame showing at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 11, before the event kicks off at 2 p.m. ET.

It is scheduled to run for three hours, ending at 5 p.m. ET, an hour and a half before Super Bowl 58 kicks off.

The 2024 Puppy Bowl will be simulcast across five channels – Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV and Max.

Steve Levy and Taylor Rooks will be on the broadcast for the show.

Puppy Bowl adoptions 2024

The Puppy Bowl isn’t just about watching adorable little dogs run around. It’s also about raising awareness for pet adoption.

Warner Bros. Discovery partnered with Best Friends Animal Society and said it will match all donations and cover adoption fees to help animals find their forever homes until Feb. 14.

Successful country music singer and animal adoption advocate Miranda Lambert will introduce the show’s “Adoptable Pup” segments with puppies and kittens across 14 shelters across the country that will be available to adopt throughout the game.
