Champions League action returns on Tuesday with the start of second leg action in the Round of 16. The first two teams to reach the quarterfinals will be identified following the final whistle in Spain and Germany, where both home teams will look to turn things around after suffering losses in the first fixture.

Be aware that you can wager on spreads via handicaps, totals, moneylines and “to advance” options  at the best online sportsbooks, in addition to betting in-match incidents like corner kicks and yellow cards, but we’re going to talk Champions League goal scorer props in this column.

Who’s putting the ball in the back of the net to put a little extra in your back pocket? Let’s examine our options.

PSG vs. Real Sociedad goal scorer prop picks

Among the world’s highest-paid players, Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe is viewed as the betting favorite to score a goal against La Liga side Real Sociedad in San Sebastian, Spain. Real Sociedad vs. PSG goal scorer props lists Mbappe as a choice to score a goal at any point in the game, to score first, and to score last.

PSG won the first match in Paris 2-0 on Valentine’s Day, and Mbappe was the first goal scorer, putting the French side up in the 58th minute. Winger Bradley Barcola closed the scoring with a splendid 70th-minute strike where he darted into the box, beat a defender and fired in a blast to put Real Sociedad in a major bind. Barcola should feature in this rematch and is to score an anytime goal, to score first, or to score last, as he did on Feb. 14.

Mbappe takes PSG’s penalty kicks, which is why bookmakers are being stingy with the return on the French superstar’s goal scoring props, limiting value. A couple other solid options for the Paris-based side are France international Randal Kolo Muani ( anytime, first, last) and Portugal’s Goncalo Ramos ( anytime, first, last).

Keep in mind that PSG isn’t thrilled that Mbappe is expected to head to Real Madrid, reportedly having signed a contract, and actually subbed him off at halftime in a goalless draw last week at Monaco. He’s still the most likely goal scorer in this match, but that limits his attractiveness. Ramos offers more bang for your buck if you’re looking to back someone from the Ligue 1 leaders.

Down 2-0 and at home, Real Sociedad’s options are also worth a long look since it must be aggressive and push forward at home in order to avoid elimination. Real Sociedad won Group D thanks to a 7-2 goal differential, edging Italy’s Inter Milan after earning three wins and three draws over its six matches.

However, Sociedad has slumped over the past six weeks, losing half of its eight La Liga matches outright to fall to seventh place. The Royal also was eliminated from the Copa del Rey competition via penalty kicks by Mallorca in an upset, so turning this around looks like a longshot given their recent form.

Japanese forward Takefusa Kubo has anytime goal odds ( first, last), but I view him more as a connector or facilitator. My pick to score is Real Sociedad captain Mikel Oyarzabal ( anytime/ first/ last), who takes the team’s penalties and is also lethal from the run of play, having scored a team-high nine times. Two other solid options worth considering are Brais Mendez ( anytime/ first/ last) and Russian international Arsen Zakharyan (+350 anytime/+850 first/last).

No goals being scored in PSG at Real Sociedad  has been set at +800. Although Spain has seen a lot of rain lately and there is some precipitation expected in Basque Country, conditions are expected to be clear for this match.

Lazio vs. Bayern Munich goal score prop picks

Rain won’t be part of the equation in Munich’s Allianz Arena, but temperatures are expected to be in the low 40’s as home side Bayern looks to turn things around after falling to Lazio 1-0 in Rome on Valentine’s Day.

Bayern is a favorite to win outright despite an inconsistent run in the Bundesliga this season. A run of 11 consecutive domestic titles is likely to end this season since the club has fallen 10 points behind Bayer Leverkusen, which rolled 3-0 at home when these teams met on Feb. 10. Thomas Tuchel’s team opened March with a 2-2 draw against Freiburg, so their unexpected struggles followed them into this month as they’ve only tasted victory once in five matches dating back to Feb. 10.

English star striker Harry Kane came on board this season and leads the club with 31 goals over 32 appearances, so it’s no surprise to see him atop the list of Lazio at Bayern Munich goal scorer props. There’s very little value in backing Kane at since scoring in soccer is never a lock, but that goes to show you how oddsmakers feel about Bayern’s chances of winning on the strength of his efforts.

Fellow forwards Mathys Tel ( anytime/ first/ last), an 18-year-old Frenchman set to explode on the international scene, and veteran German winger Leroy Sane (//) could benefit from the attention Kane commands up front. Books also like Cameroon international Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (//) as a viable option.

If you’re looking for a more lucrative option from Bayern, my recommendation is 21-year-old German midfielder Jamal Musiala (//), who scored the go-ahead goal at Freiburg over the weekend before the home side pulled back a late equalizer. Musiala, nicknamed “Bambi,” is a special talent who ranks second to the prolific Kane with 10 goals across all competitions this season.

Lazio is having a rough season in Italy’s Serie A, which is why it is such a heavy underdog in this match. The White and Sky Blues have given up 29 goals in 27 matches domestically, have scored just 32 and are 12-4-11 to rank ninth on points.

Lazio is still alive in the Coppa Italia competition but was blasted by Inter 3-0 in the SuperCoppa in January and has dropped four of five outright in Serie A. Maurizio Sarri’s team lost two of their three road group matches in Champions League at Atlético Madrid and Feyenoord, getting outscored 5-1.

Thirty-four-year-old veteran captain Ciro Immobile remains Lazio’s top goal scorer with 10 across all competitions but is well past his prime. He’s to score at any point in this match, to score first, and to score last. If Lazio is going to pull an upset here, he’ll need to be a threat, but my x-factor to watch is French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi (//), who can be disruptive.

BetMGM has set no goal scorer at +1200 in this match, which is a long shot since Bayern is certain to be aggressive given its need to win by multiple goals to advance in regulation.
