NIT 2024 schedule today: Times, TV channels, scores for Wednesday’s consolation tournament games

Day two of the National Invitation Tournament brings the No. 1 matchups day one was missing. Wednesday features one of the best offenses in the country in Indiana State, two power five teams in Wake Forest and Cincinnati and seven exciting matchups. Indiana State’s Robbie Avila, a potential March Madness legend in the making had the Sycamores made the big dance, is perhaps the best player in the entire NIT field. If you haven’t had the chance to catch him in action, do yourself a favor and tune in.

All four No. 1 seeds — Seton Hall, Indiana State, Wake Forest and Villanova — compete, and five of seven matchups feature teams with 20+ wins each, with the two outliers not far behind. 

Wake Forest vs. Appalachian State presents an intriguing matchup of North Carolina schools, just an hour-and-a-half drive separating the two. Bradley vs. Loyola Chicago also offers an in-state matchup from Illinois. 

Seton Hall (1953), Bradley (1957, 1960, 1964, 1982), Princeton (1975), Wake Forest (2000), San Francisco (1949) and Villanova (1994) have all won the NIT since its inception.

NIT schedule 2024

The NIT is set to begin with a slate of first round matchups on Tuesday, March 19. Games in the first three rounds will be played at campus sites, with the semifinals and championship set to take place at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
