How old is Jack Gohlke?

Despite his elder statesman-like presence for Oakland, Gohlke isn’t too much older than your typical college athlete. Oakland’s gunslinger is 24 years old, having been born on Dec. 3, 1999.

He entered the collegiate ranks in 2018-19, joining Division II side Hillsdale College in Michigan. The Pewaukee, Wisconsin, native played sparingly in his first three seasons with the program. In 2021-22, though, Gohlke came to life, averaging 9.6 points per game on 46.3/40.8/87.0 shooting splits.

He built on that campaign in his redshirt senior season, upping his scoring average to 14.2 points per game while retaining his usual assortment of jump-shooting excellence.

The NCAA offered an additional season of eligibility to winter-sport athletes in 2020-21 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. That gave Gohlke an extra year to showcase his talent, and he took it.

His 3-point prowess brought suitors for his fifth year. Eventually, he landed in Oakland. New pastures brought new challenges; Gohlke sank just 37% of his shot attempts this year, a far cry from the 40% mark he hovered around in DII.

That’s to be expected when you step up in competition. And the composition of Gohlke’s shots changed as well. His game revolves entirely around the 3-ball for Oakland, with 347 of Gohlke’s 355 field-goal attempts coming from beyond the arc this year.
