This Wednesday, the LSU Tigers will host its annual pro day to showcase prospective NFL athletes to the 32 teams around the league.

The Tigers’ quarterback and 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, Jayden Daniels, will participate at the school’s pro day and showcase his talents to NFL personnel.

This will be the first time this offseason scouts and NFL people will see Daniels throw. Him and, most notably, Caleb Williams opted not to participate in throwing drills at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Daniels, 23, is coming off the best season of his career. Because of his stellar finish, he earned the 2023 Heisman Trophy award over Oregon’s Bo Nix and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr.

He threw for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and four interceptions. Daniels’ 208 passer rating finished first in the country last season by a landslide.

Additionally, he was phenomenal on the ground. He rushed for over 1,100 yards and 10 touchdowns, putting his total touchdown number for 2023 up to 50.

Daniels and wide receiver Malik Nabers will likely connect a few times at their pro day. Nabers, like Daniels, is projected to be drafted within the top 10 picks of the 2024 NFL draft.

Jayden Daniels 2024 NFL Draft projection

In his latest mock draft, The Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer projects the Patriots to take Daniels with the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NFL draft. The Patriots traded Mac Jones to the Jaguars earlier in the offseason, paving the way for them to draft a new quarterback.

“The Patriots did sign Brissett, but they also traded Mac Jones, telling everyone they also will be drafting a franchise QB. Their moves to improve the offense have been uninspiring, but they are hinting a little that they want to add a key running element to what will be a rush-heavy offense. Daniels can provide that with his speed and explosiveness, and he also has a lively, big-play arm.”
