Raiders, QB Michael Penix Jr. slated for top-30 visit ahead of 2024 NFL draft, per report

The Las Vegas Raiders will reportedly host Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. on a top-30 visit ahead of the 2024 NFL draft.

According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, Penix Jr. has already had dinner with the New York Giants and a private workout with the Minnesota Vikings.

On top of the Raiders, Penix Jr. has top-30 visits scheduled with the Atlanta Falcons, Washington Commanders and Denver Broncos.

Depending on how highly they view Penix Jr., who is coming off two monster years to close out his collegiate career, the Raiders could target the signal-caller at No. 13 overall or after a trade back.

However, based on projections, it’s more likely Penix Jr. is on the board in the second round, where the Raiders have the No. 44 overall pick.

Of the aforementioned group of teams, the Falcons and Commanders are ahead of the Raiders in the second round, although the latter figures to grab a quarterback at No. 2 overall.

Currently, the Raiders have Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew at the top of their depth chart, but neither is a locked-in, long-term solution, hence Vegas’ interest in adding a quarterback.
