Former Vikings QB is lighting up the UFL

The second week of the United Football League is upon us and teams are starting to separate from the pack. One of those is the Memphis Showboats and they have looked good over the first two weeks.

Showboats quarterback Case Cookus became an internet legend when Wide Left’s Arif Hasan was with The Athletic and started tweeting the name Case Cookus.

The bit hasn’t stopped. In fact, it’s gotten stronger over time and the development of the spring football leagues. Cookus has been involved over the last two years with the spring leagues and is currently leading the Showboats. Against the San Antonio Brahmas on Saturday, Cookus threw an early touchdown to Daewood Davis and followed it up with multiple shots down the field, including this beauty to Johnathan Adams

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as the Brahmas came back from a 16-0 deficit to beat the Showboats 20-19. It doesn’t takeaway from the fact that the first two weeks have seen Cookus ball out.
