Red Sox OF leaves game vs. Twins with injury

The Boston Red Sox have been bit by the injury bug this season, as they’ve had a number of key players battle different things throughout the first month of the 2024 campaign.

During their series finale against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday at Target Field, Boston lost another player with outfielder Rob Refsnyder getting removed from the game in the fifth inning. The team announced that he’s dealing with left hamstring tightness.

Refsnyder drove in the Red Sox’s first run of the game, continuing his impressive start to the year. In 13 games, he’s hitting .343 with a 1.065 OPS despite playing through a toe injury that put him on the injured list to start the season.

If the 33-year-old is forced to miss any time, Boston will have to rely on Jarren Duran, Tyler O’Neill and Wilyer Abreu as the primary outfielders. Ceddanne Rafaela can move back to the outfield if necessary, as he did on Sunday.
