Vikings Kevin O’Connell and J.J. McCarthy to attend the Wolves game on Sunday

The Minnesota market has historically done a great job when it comes to supporting the other franchises in town. Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson was courtside for the opening game of the playoffs, as was future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson.

The Vikings have done a great job supporting all the teams in the market and they will be doing that again on Sunday, as head coach Kevin O’Connell and quarterback J.J. McCarthy will be at the Timberwolves game four against the Denver Nuggets.

“Huge NBA fan, converted Wolves fan that’s for sure,” McCarthy said. “Love everything that they’re doing. They play well as a team, and obviously they’re super athletic and super talented. I’m actually going to the game Sunday, so I’m extremely excited for that and extremely excited to see them tonight.”

When McCarthy was drafted, the local teams didn’t lose for over a week. Could his presence be an omen that the Wolves end up clinching the series?
