Where to watch US Darts Masters live stream, TV channel, prize money for New York event

The 2024 World Series of Darts continues with its third event of the year, and this is one of the most exciting of the lot — it’s the US Darts Masters from Madison Square Garden in New York, and the world’s top eight ranked players will be heading stateside to face off against the best North America has to offer.

Fresh off the back of 17-year-old Luke Littler’s shock victory in the Premier League Darts playoffs after week-to-week domination across Western Europe, he and seven other players, seeded according to their performance after the first two World Series events, will play against the eight highest-ranked American players from the CDC Continental Cup and Cross-Border Darts Challenge.

All eight of the contestants in this year’s Premier League will be flying across the pond to The Theater at Madison Square Garden, before two days of action in a round-of-16 knockout gets underway on Friday, May 31. It’s a debut in the US for Littler, but after he shocked the darting world (again) by winning at London’s O2 last week, his Premier League opponents will be looking to show off their talents in the Big Apple.

It’s all set up to be a high-flighting weekend of world-class darts action at one of the world’s best-known homes of entertainment, and to keep track of all the action from New York, The Sporting News is your best bet.

The US Darts Masters for 2024 begins on Friday, May 31 with the first round, which will see each of the eight top-ranked PDC players face their US or Canadian opponents in the round of 16. While the Premier League-hardened European stars are expected to easily handle this opening round, last year’s tournament saw Peter Wright and defending champion Michael Smith knocked out by eventual finalist Jeff Smith and his fellow Canadian Jim Long respectively.

Day 2 begins with the quarterfinals, which like the first round are played over the best of 11 legs. Heading into the last four on the same day, the parameters are moved higher to best of 13, while in the final — played later on in the evening session — it’s a best-of-15 shoot-out between the last two remaining players to see who’ll take home the biggest share of the £60,000 prize pot.

2024 US Darts Masters prize money

As one of the newer events on the PDC’s World Series of Darts, and one of the few held in the US, the prize money for the US Darts Masters is not quite on the level of some other major events (like the Premier League), but that will surely only increase as the tournament continues to get bigger and bigger!

The prize pot in 2024 is the same as least year’s total, £60,000. The winner of the 16-player tournament will receive a third of this amount with £20,000, and that amount halves going back into each of the earlier stages of the tournament. Each player is guaranteed at least £1,250 from the first round onwards.

  • Winner – £20,000
  • Runner-up – £10,000
  • Semifinalists – £5,000
  • Quarterfinalists – £2,500
  • First Round – £1,250

Who won US Darts Masters last year?

The winner of the 2023 US Darts Masters was the mighty Michael van Gerwen, who gave Canadian outsider Jeff Smith an 8-0 thrashing in the final. Rob Cross achieved the highest checkout of 170, in his semifinal against MVG, but ended up narrowly losing 7-6 to the Dutchman as Smith recorded a shock victory against current world number one Luke Humphries by the same scoreline in their last-four clash.

Luke Littler’s explosion onto the scene since the 2023/24 World Darts Championship, finishing runner-up to Humphries in that tournament before recently going on to win the Premier League, means he’s the only new face of the eight seeded PDC players heading to New York, and replaces Belgium’s Dimitri Van Den Bergh in the lineup at Madison Square Garden.
