LeBron James describes Kyrie Irving as NBA’s “most gifted player”

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were one of the most entertaining tandems to step foot on the NBA hardwood, and the connection hasn’t ended since the two parted ways.

The duo reached three consecutive NBA Finals with the Cleveland Cavaliers, delivering one of the greatest comebacks in sports over the Golden State Warriors in 2016. In a teaser for the latest ‘Mind the Game’ podcast episode, James devoted incredible amounts of praise to Irving for his recent success with the Dallas Mavericks.

“There was nothing on a basketball floor that Kyrie couldn’t do. I’m so [expletive] mad that I’m not his running mate anymore. To have a guy like Kyrie Irving as the ultimate wild card, it’s like having a ‘draw four’ in your hand every time someone deals you cards in UNO,” James said.

Irving and the Mavs are facing off against the Boston Celtics in the Finals, with Game 1 taking place in Boston on Thursday evening. If the Mavericks pull off the upset victory, the team would be the first No. 5 seed in NBA history to win a title. The Los Angeles Lakers star concluded his remark with a meaningful statement.

“I have so many words to praise Kyrie that I end up with absolutely none,” James shared. “He’s the most gifted player the NBA has ever seen.”
