Dodgers manager Dave Roberts shares ‘ideas’ with Steelers coach Mike Tomlin

The Dodgers trip to Pittsburgh has been rough on the diamond. Los Angeles dropped the first two games of their series against the Pirates, including a 1-0 shutout in Game 1 and then a 10-6 loss in Game 2 where they allowed seven runs in the second inning. Manager Dave Roberts is trying to make sure the trip isn’t a total waste though.

Roberts and some of the Dodgers coaching staff dropped by Pittsburgh Steelers headquarters to meet with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and “share ideas” according to a post on Twitter by Tomlin.

While Tomlin may not be able to offer much in the way of advice on getting the Dodgers offense out of a rut, he’s been a terrific leader as an NFL head coach. LA’s staff should’ve been able to learn plenty from Tomlin, who has been Pittsburgh’s head coach since 2007. He has one Super Bowl win under his belt, but he’s managed to sustain success through plenty of turmoil and changes. The Steelers have never had a losing record in Tomlin’s 17 seasons at the helm.
