When is Canada’s quarterfinal game at Copa America 2024? Schedule, dates, times, roster and how to watch knockout clash

Canada’s inaugural Copa America run began against the defending World Cup and Copa America champions, as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Lionel Messi’s Argentina

But they got a win on the board in their second group match as Jonathan David’s goal in the second period led them to a 1-0 victory over Peru, and a draw with Chile has sent them into the knockout stages.

This competition is another massive test for Les Rouges after a disappointing World Cup performance in 2022 in Qatar, where they lost all three of their group-stage games. It’s the latest chance for new coach Jesse Marsch to see his players as well ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Canada.

In Canada’s first Copa America, they are able to call on many of their stars playing across the pond and in MLS. Players like Alphonso Davies, David, and Tajon Buchanan are all be available for selection.

Canada’s Copa America record

This is Canada’s first Copa America. They failed to qualify for the Copa America Centenario in 2016 because of their poor performance at the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup, and they were not invited previously to any other editions of the tournament as a guest team.
