Minnesota Vikings CB Mekhi Blackmon blasts reporter for tweet about Khyree Jackson after tragic death

The Minnesota Vikings are dealing with tragedy as rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson passed away in a car accident on Saturday morning at the age of 24.

The Vikings selected Jackson in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft and was set to compete in an uncertain cornerback room. He had impressed many in the organization and has been lauded as a great person off the field.

His teammate with the Vikings cornerback Mekhi Blackmon is one of many impacted by the news and took to social media to defend Jackson from a reporter using an arrest to describe him.

Jackson does have a tremendous comeback story as he worked in a grocery store after high school and almost became a professional gamer. However, framing things like this doesn’t do any good in a tragic situation like this one.

Good on Blackmon for saying something and defending his teammate.
